Kobe and Yokohama - Early February

So this is another late update, but over the few days of January 31st and February 4th, Chris and I ventured into the port of Yokohama and Kobe Japan. We were unable to go ashore in Yokohama but we were able to snap a few shots of the gorgeous Mt. Fuji.

Also in our travels, we also got to go ashore in Kobe. Probably the highlight of our trip. We went to the Kobe Chinatown, Motomachi a long shopping street, Umie Mall, Harborland, and Meriken Park. It was alot to do in just 5 hours but we were efficient. The true highlight of the trip was going to have the legendary Kobe Beef in Kobe. The beef was lifechanging. Steak will never be the same.

Most expensive dish I have had in my life so far.
It was one short day but it was a great chance to be able to go ashore. We continue to work on our project on the ship and our next destination is Korea. (We are already there as of posting this but we will bring more news from there at the end of Korea)

Deck Update

1/18/15
Chris and I have ventured on to the deck a few days earlier. We began our perilous journey to trace our necessary drawings. However, we found ourselves bedazzled by majestic creatures that came from the sea. With their shining wings and flexible tails they soared above the seas. These flying fish flew above the ocean and we found ourselves just watching these majestic creatures. Sometimes we would see one small one, or a school of them, or even just one massive one that flew for an incredible amount of time. A fascinating sight.

A relaxing weekend

We haven't had Internet in while but just in time after our late Christmas party. We had our fantastic Christmas party with a whole roasted pig! Some fantastic live music from the crew! With the starry night and a day of relaxation it was a wonderful break from working day in day out in the engine room. We are about three weeks away from Japan! We are almost there!

Ping ponging the pacific

For two days now Chris and I have engaged in extra work as we face the skilled chief mate and speedy third engineer in games of ping pong. We (mostly me) don't stand a chance in the experienced sailing ping ponging masters  but with practice we may stand a chance. Perhaps by Japan we will be ping ponging masters of the pacific.

Sneak Peak (Its la Panama Canal)

Steel Surviving

So its been a while folks. A lot has happened and we just got internet after our journey. We have done tons! We cleaned so many more plates and other cleaning but we are starting to do other important things. We have done some bunkering of fuel from a barge, where Chris and I stayed up all night watching and helping out. Although, the work we do is tiring we learn alot. Some exciting other things though, we passed by the Panama Canal and I touched the Panama Canal and took a decent time lapse of the Canal. These picture and videos may come later! As much as I would like to share these pictures and videos the slow internet requires some processing of this so hopefully that comes soon. We are still waiting on those starry nights and rough seas. However, preferably not the later since we both realized we get seasick although Chris does not get it as much. More news will come! Maybe daily! And probably unedited grammatically!
